Tutor Training Documents
Hello! Thank you for your interest in becoming a tutor for The Reading Room. The owner, Cynthia Januszka, developed the curriculum used by The Reading Room. She created it by investigating and conducting research on the best methods to teach literacy.
A great place to start is to view the video on how a session (whether online or in person) is to be conducted. Then take a look at the items under the curriculum tab, where you will find curriculum materials that can be downloaded and used during your tutoring sessions.
Additionally, links to free online tools, lessons, and books can be found under the teaching tools section. Be sure to look through everything and see if you would like to continue the journey with us on improving students’ literacy levels.
